Betel Finances.

How much does it cost to run Betel?

The annual costs of running Betel are approximately  £130,000

The main areas of expenditure are:-

  • Wages (including tax and insurance) for about 26 workers - £26,000
  • Fuel, vehicle maintenance and repair, and  travel costs - £18,400
  • Food £8000. In addition there is an agreement with a large supermarket whereby Betel is allowed items which have passed their sell-by date. It is estimated that this is worth £6000 per annum
  • Materials for maintenance & construction  - £11,000

Where does the money come from?

Betel relies entirely on voluntary donations. It received almost no assistance from the government or local authorities.

In 2004 UK Supporters contributed £53,500 - just over 40% of their total income.

What areas do we support financially?

In consultation with Betel we are committed to funding:-

  • The payment of the monthly salaries
  • The biannual replenishment of the diesel storage tank

In addition we have a fund to assist young people with short training courses.

We also assist in raising funds for capital projects - buildings, vehicle purchases.

How can I help?
