There are 6 houses where youngsters live under the care of house parents. Four houses are for mixed groups and two are for boys only. These groups are the hubs of Betel life in which youngsters can feel safe and valued with a significant part to play in the daily routine. This is often in stark contrast to what most of them have previously experienced.
House parents naturally play the key role in establishing a structured and caring atmosphere which may be described as ‘home’. They are dedicated to the task which keeps them on duty 24/7 from 6.30 in the morning, with a weekend respite about every six weeks.
